4-Day Discover Angkor Wat and Beng Mealea Tour

Day 1 : Itinerary

Following an early morning pickup by your driver, head to the sprawling jungle temple of Beng Mealea. Here, you can marvel at the flora and fauna of the area. Then, enjoy a local lunch at a restaurant where your guide will give you important details for the rest of your tour.

In the afternoon, stop at Kampong Phluk, a floating village on Tonle Sap Lake, the largest lake in South East Asia. At around 4:30 PM, purchase a 3-day temple pass at your own expense for the upcoming days. Then, drive to Phnom Bakheng to watch the beautiful sunset before heading back to your accommodation in Siem Reap.

Day 2 : Itinerary

Start your day at 08:30 AM with a visit to the ancient city of Angkor Thom. First explore the major sights including South Gate Angkor Tom, Bayon, Baphuon, Phimeanakas, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King, North Khleang, and South Khleang.

Then visit some smaller temples off the beaten track such as Chau Say Tevoda, Thommanon, and Ta Keo. Savor a delicious lunch at a restaurant before heading to the jungle temple of Ta Prohm, the filming location of the Tomb Raider movie. Afterward, return to your hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 3 : Itinerary

Journey out at 08:30 AM and head to Preah Khan to explore this vast monastic complex. Next, visit the temple of Neak Pean, Ta Som, East Mebon, Pre Rup, and Banteay Kdei. Stop for lunch before heading to Angkor Wat.

Enjoy some free time to explore this fascinating monument at your own pace, before returning to your hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 4 : Itinerary

Head out in the early morning to watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat for the experience of a lifetime. Then continue the tour to marvel at the Angkor’s most intricately carved temples Banteay Samre and Banteay Srei. Arrive before the masses of crowds and enjoy a visit to a traditional Khmer village and palm sugar plantation. The nearby Landmine Museum can be visited for a cost of $5 per person.

In the afternoon, stop for lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Roluos Temple Group. Here, admire the selection of monuments and temples representing the remains of Hariharalaya, the first major capital of the Khmer Empire. Return to your accommodation at the end of the day.
